Description
The Philips HeartStart FRx AED is a lightweight, rugged, and extremely easy-to-use defibrillator designed for first responders, businesses, public spaces, and demanding environments. With clear voice prompts, visual icons, and a real-time CPR metronome, the device guides users step by step through CPR and defibrillation, providing confidence during emergencies. Thanks to SMART Pads II, the same electrode pads can be used for both adults and children; when the optional Infant/Child Key is inserted, the device automatically adjusts instructions and energy levels, eliminating the need for separate pediatric pads. Quick Shock™ technology enables shock delivery in an average of 8 seconds after CPR, increasing survival chances in sudden cardiac arrest situations.
Built for harsh conditions, the FRx is IPX5 water-resistant, dust-protected, and tested to withstand 1.2 m drops, extreme temperature changes, and crush loads of up to 500 kg. The device performs daily, weekly, and monthly automatic self-tests that check pads, battery, and internal circuitry, ensuring constant readiness. Its long-life battery provides up to four years of standby life. When Training Pads II are installed, the device switches to eight realistic training scenarios. Using the reliable SMART Analysis algorithm, which allows shock delivery only when an appropriate rhythm is detected, the FRx is a defibrillator solution that can be trusted in any critical emergency environment.
